Raymond R. Ravotti
Raymond R. Ravotti, 84, of Freeport passed away peacefully Sunday at Saxony Health Center.
Ray was born June 6, 1932, in the Butler Junction section of Freeport. He was the son of the late Clara Conti and Mario Ravotti Sr.
Ray was a lifetime member of St. Mary, Mother of God Church in Freeport. He had been an active member of his church and was an usher and a member of the funeral choir.
A 1950 graduate of Freeport High School, Ray enlisted in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. After the war, he returned home to Freeport and went to work at the old Freeport Hardware Store. He worked as a manager until the time of the store's closing in the early 1990s. He then went to work for Westerman's Hardware Store in Sarver for a number of years.
Ray was an honorary member of the Freeport Volunteer Fire Department. He was a longtime member of the White Star Club and the Freeport Eagles. Ray had served on the old Freeport Pool Association Board and had volunteered for many years with the Freeport International Baseball Invitational. He was an avid bowler and was involved in many different bowling leagues in the area. He had enjoyed playing in the Boccie Ball league at the White Star Club. Ray loved to spend time with his large family and attending his grandchildren's numerous activities.
Ray is survived by his wife of 54 years, Loretta M. Nowikowski Ravotti; their four daughters, Deborah L. and Thomas Showers of Freeport, Louise M. and Rob Kosecki of Freeport, Lisa A. and Scott McCrea of South Buffalo Township and Paula J. and Rick Lowry of Buffalo Township; and their son, Del Raymond and Jennifer Ravotti of Winfield Township.
Ray also is survived by his 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Theresa and Roger Kalmeyer of Freeport and Della Miller of Queensland, Australia; four brothers, Mario and Barbara Ravotti of Freeport, Edward “Butch” and Claudia Ravotti of Brackenridge, Guido and Sandra Ravotti of Freeport and Allen “Chip” and Loretta Ravotti of Ford City.
He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Dominic J. Ravotti and Robert Ravotti; and his brother-in-law, William Miller.

Ravotti, who died Sunday, April 2, 2017, will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, 524 High St., Freeport.Everyone is asked to please meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Mother of God Church in Freeport for a Mass of Christian burial with the Rev.
