Millie E. Eisler

Millie E. Eisler of Slippery Rock died Saturday at the Trinity Living Center in Grove City.

Millie was born May 28, 1929, in Butler, and had lifelong ties to the area. She graduated from Butler High School and went on to attend business school in Pittsburgh.

Millie then worked in offices in Western Pennsylvania and North Carolina before retiring to the Butler area.

She was a member of the First English Lutheran Church in Butler. Her love for the area was evident in her lifelong enthusiasm for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Penguins and her daily Butler Eagle.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents, John M. Eisler and Mary McBride Eisler Rish; her stepmother, Dorothy Staples Eisler; her sisters, Virginia Eisler Schedler and Jean Eisler Finnie; and her brother, Jack.

She is survived by siblings, David Eisler and Susan Eisler Gonsalves; and many nieces and nephews.

Millie will be especially missed by her niece, Linda Schedler Winkler, and her family, who valued Millie's grace and enjoyment of simple things.

EISLER — Funeral arrangements for Millie E. Eisler, who died Saturday, April 1, 2017, are being conducted privately at the family's convenience. Entombment will be at the Butler County Memorial Park.Arrangements have been entrusted to the Smith Funeral Home in Slippery Rock.Memorial contributions may be given to the Butler County Humane Society or the First English Lutheran Church.
