Emergency crews responded to the Cranberry Mall for a malfunctioning rooftop HVAC unit. No injuries were reported.

Several emergency crews responded to the Cranberry Mall on Thursday morning for an incident involving a malfunctioning rooftop HVAC unit.

"It caused a smell in the building," said Cranberry Township Fire Chief David Mack.

Part of the mall's store-side road was closed while firefighters from Cranberry, Adams Township, Marshall Township and Harmony tended to the matter, which was reported around 11:45 a.m.

Cranberry Township police and EMS were also on the scene.

Fire trucks cleared out around 12:30 p.m.

No injuries or damages were reported.
