Baierl sold to Lithia
The eight Pittsburgh-area Baierl Automotive Group dealerships have been absorbed by Lithia Motors of Medford, Ore.
In the announcement, made on Monday, Lithia Motors officials said no management changes will be made and the name of the dealership will remain “Baierl.”
“It's really a wonderful combination bringing Baierl into the group,” said Lithia president and CEO Bryan DeBoer. “We're excited to have Lee (Baierl) and the entire team join us and we look forward to sharing best practices and moving forward together.”
The addition of Baierl's dealerships brings Lithia Motors' total store count to 160 in 18 states, representing virtually all automotive brands.
DeBoer stressed that the only changes that will be noticed in the deal are an increased presence in the Northeast U.S., a greater vehicle selection and expanded financing options for customers.
Local dealerships are Baierl Ford in Zelienople and Baierl Toyota in Cranberry Township. There are also three Baierl dealerships in Wexford, Allegheny County, just south of Cranberry Township.
