Beatrice Faye “Bea” Martin

Beatrice Faye “Bea” Martin, 68, of Terrace Apartments in Butler passed away Thursday at her residence.

She was born June 18, 1948, in Grove City to Ernest Meals and Clara Cleo Hoover Meals.

She married Clarence Edward “Ed” Martin on May 22, 1970, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 22, 1995.

Bea was a homemaker and attended the Church of the Nazarene in West Sunbury.

She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was involved with her church and recently started to learn quilt making. She also enjoyed baking and making peanut butter fudge.

She is survived by her daughter, Dixie L. Christy and her husband, Dean, of Slippery Rock; two sisters, Kathy Hogue of Ellwood City and Bridgett Miller and her husband, Mark, of Elizabethtown, Ky.; two brothers, Dave Meals and his wife, Melinda, of Grove City and Sam Meals of Hamilton, Ohio; three grandchildren, Abby, Nikki and Taylor; four great-grandchildren, Benton, Aiden, Harlo and Liam; and another expected great-grandchild.

Besides her husband, Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, William “Toot” Meals; and two infant daughters.

MARTIN — Calling hours for Beatrice Faye “Bea” Martin, who died Thursday, March 30, 2017, will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home; 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. A funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Tim Britton of the Church of the Nazarene officiating.Interment will be in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.For more information please visit the www.martinfh.net.
