Cardie D. Zimmerman Coleman

Cardie D. Zimmerman Coleman, 91, of Butler passed away Friday at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.

She was born Jan. 10, 1926, in Williamstown, Pa., to the late William Zimmerman and the late Annie C. Beitler Zimmerman.

Cardie was a member of Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church. She worked for Nationwide for more than 20 years before her retirement in 1992. Cardie was an avid reader and shopper and enjoyed spending time with her family and sending cards to her family and friends.

She is survived by her three daughters, Carol Holochuk and her husband, Keith “Butch,” of West Sunbury, Anzella “Anzie” Kelley and her husband, Richard, of Butler, and Pamela Steighner and her husband, David, of Renfrew; five grandchildren, Jason Kelley and his wife, Marci, Jonathan Kelley and his wife, Brandy, Andrew Steighner and his wife, Amanda, Melisa Yashinski and her husband, Allan, and Kenton Holochuk; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Coleman, who she married June 1, 1946, and who died Dec. 14, 1975; her stepmother, Minnie Zimmerman; one brother, Joseph Zimmerman; and one sister, Mae Rautzahn.

COLEMAN — Friends of Cardie D. Zimmerman Coleman, who died Friday, March 24, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., Butler, with the Rev. Merry H. Meloy, pastor, officiating.

Private burial will take place at the Summit Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., Butler, PA 16001; Butler Area Public Library, 218 N. McKean St., Butler, PA 16001; or Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Good Samaritan Hospice, 3500 Brooktree Road, Ste. 320, Wexford, PA 15090.
