Maxine Elinore Peffer Kalcevic

Maxine Elinore Peffer Kalcevic, 94, of New Wilmington, formerly of Beaver Falls, died Tuesday in Shenango on the Green in New Wilmington.

Born June 4, 1922, in Brady Township, she was the daughter of the late Clyde L. and Etta Thompson Peffer and the wife of the late Frank J. Kalcevic, who died June 28, 2001.

Maxine was a registered nurse with a master's in education from Slippery Rock University. She was also employed at the Riverside Beaver County schools for 30 years, was a Mary Kay skin care consultant for 17 years and owned a jewelry business for five years.

Maxine was a past president of the Nurses Alumni of Beaver Valley General Hospital, of the American Association of University Women and a member of the Pennsylvania Association School Retirees.

She was also a former member of the Executive Women Council, the Women of St. Rose and a 50-year member of the “Card Club.” She was a member of the New Wilmington Presbyterian Church in New Wilmington.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harold E. Peffer; and his nephew, Curtis Peffer; and his dear friend, Allen “Hap” Hoagland.

Surviving are his niece, Dr. Diane M. Peffer of Mesa, Ariz.; and three nephews and their wives, Barry and Anita Peffer of Volant, the Rev. Donald and Zoe Peffer, missionaries in Brazil, and Steven and Sandy Peffer of Smyrna, Tenn.; and several great nieces and nephews.

KALCEVIC — A memorial service for Maxine Elinore Peffer Kalcevic, who died Tuesday, March 21, 2017, will be at 3 p.m. April 9 at the Shenango on the Green in Wilmington, Pa., in the Community Room.Entombment will be at the Williamsburg Chapel Mausoleum in Beaver Falls Cemetery in Chippewa Township.If desired, friends may make a contribution to the Senior Care Fund or the Library Fund at Shenango on the Green, 238 South Market Street, New Wilmington, PA 16142.
