Martha Ann Barr Johnson
Martha Ann Barr Johnson, 80, of Old Route 422, Portersville, passed away Wednesday while under hospice care.
Born Dec. 17, 1936, in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late George and Elma Young Barr.
Martha was a member of the Oak Grove Church, where she played the organ for many years. She previously volunteered as treasurer of the Slippery Rock Township Fire Department.
She attended the New Castle Business College and then worked for various businesses. Martha worked for Nard Oldsmobile in Ellwood City, Bell Telephone in New Castle, Mathews Conveyor in Ellwood City and retired from Lawrence County Domestic Relations in New Castle.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Harlan Dean Johnson; her three sons, George Elton (Lauri) Johnson of New Castle, Walter Dean (Kori) Johnson of Wampum and Mark Harlan (Meredith) Johnson of Ellwood City; her eight grandchildren, Joshua (Samantha) Johnson, Jonathan Johnson, Joseph Johnson, Seth Johnson, Erick Johnson, Ethan Johnson, Michala Johnson and Mackenzie Johnson; her great-grandson, Parker Johnson; and her brother, John Young Barr of Virginia.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, George Kerr Barr.
JOHNSON — Visitation for Martha Ann Barr Johnson, who died Wednesday, March 22, 2017, will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main St., Prospect.A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Barr, her nephew, officiating.
