Earl D. Painter

Earl D. Painter, 83, of Clinton Township, Valencia, died Monday at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born June 8, 1933, in Pitcairn, Pa., he was the son of the late Beryl and Lily Mae Simpson Painter.

Earl had been a programmer for IBM and was a member of Glade Run Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and volunteering for the South Butler Community Meals on Wheels.

He had served in the U.S. Army at Fort Bragg, where he was a paratrooper.

Surviving are his wife of nearly 62 years, Marion Farrow Painter, who he married June 13, 1955; his children, Sue (Denny) Denmead of Washington, Pa., Val Joe (Deanna) Painter of Fairfield, Pa., and Floyd (Laura) Painter of Penn Township; his grandchildren, Danielle, Grady, Adam, Grant, Brad, Jenny and Steve; and his great-grandchildren, Ethan and Kherington.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, William Painter and Phyllis Bates.

PAINTER — Friends of Earl D. Painter, who died Monday, March 20, 2017, will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Glade Run Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia, with the Rev. Greg Wiest, pastor, officiating.
