Kenneth D. Matthews

Kenneth D. Matthews, 76, of West Sunbury passed away Sunday at the Good Samaritan Hospice.

He was born July 18, 1940, in Homestead, to the late David Thomas Matthews and the late Ruth Elizabeth Porter Matthews.

Ken worked as an engineer and also served as the president of E.M.C. International, retiring in 1999. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming.

Ken is survived by his wife, Joanne Carr Matthews, who he married Aug. 11, 1962; two sons, Bob Matthews and his wife, Becky, of Claysville, Pa., and Tom Matthews and his wife, Tammy, of West Sunbury; one daughter, Amy Trettel, and her husband, Jim, of Slippery Rock; four grandchildren who were the love of his life, Hali Norris, Baily Trettel, Brock Matthews and Reagan Matthews; and one great-grandson, Brock Norris.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Matthews.

MATTHEWS — Services for Kenneth D. Matthews, who died Sunday, March 19, 2017, were conducted privately at the family's convenience. Entombment took place at the Chapel of Devotion in Butler County Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Wounded Warriors, One Oxford Centre, 301 Grant St., Pittsburgh, PA 15219, or St. Jude Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.Arrangements were handled by the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E.
