Frank Swidzinski, 89, of Butler passed away Sunday.

He was born Sept. 22, 1927, in Butler, to the late Nicklas Swidzinski and the late Pauline Schmidtt.

A U.S. Army veteran, Frank worked for Davis Furniture, Armco Steel and was the owner and proprietor of Frank Swidzinski Co. for more than 50 years. He lived to work, not worked to live.

Frank enjoyed hunting.

Frank is survived by his two sons, Tom (Kimmy) Swidzinski of Butler and Dale (Robin) Swidzinski of Butler; five grandchildren, Brooke (Steve), Beth (Mike) Ensley, Bryan Frank Swidzinski, Maura Swidzinski and Dylan Swidzinski; four great-grandchildren, Alyssa Jane, Mason Frank, Sydney and Charlie; five brothers, Joseph Swidzinski of Butler, Adam Swidzinski of Butler, Louis Swidzinski of Butler, John B. Swidzinski of Butler and Carl Swidzinski of Butler; three sisters, Eugenia Schultz of Butler, Lucille Spohn of Maryland and Helen Dolman of Slippery Rock; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Jane Fisher Swidzinski, who he married Aug. 4, 1950, and who died Aug. 6, 2001; and two brothers, Stanley Swidzinski and Albert Swidzinski.

SWIDZINSKI — Friends of Frank Swidzinski, who died Sunday, March 19, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 420 N. Main St., Butler, with the Rev. Dan Ledford officiating.Officers and members of the American Legion Post 117 of Butler, American Legion Post 778 of Lyndora and the VFW Post 249 of Butler will conduct military honors following the service. Interment will take place at the Rose Hill Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the donor's choice.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
