Raymond E. Sarvey

Raymond E. Sarvey of Butler passed away Friday at the Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice.

He was born May 18, 1944, in Butler, the son of the late Ralph and Beulah Aggas Sarvey.

Ray was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War. He had been at Pullman-Standard for 18 years and retired from the Butler School District.

Surviving are his wife, Deretha Van Dalsem Sarvey; his son, Todd Sarvey of Butler; three grandsons, Brent Cahall, Mitchel and Matheu Sarvey; his sister, Glenna (Robert) Weichey of East Butler; and three brothers, Ralph Sarvey, Kenneth (Donna) Sarvey and Delbert Dean (Elsie) Sarvey, all of Butler.

He also was preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Sarvey; his sister, Norma Campbell; and three brothers, Silas, Vernon and Albert Sarvey.

SARVEY — Friends of Raymond E. Sarvey, who died Friday, March 17, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Steve Cort officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenlawn Burial Estates, Butler.

Military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the VFW Post 249, the Lyndora Legion Post 778 and the Butler Legion Post 117.
