PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pirates outfielder Starling Marte was suspended for 80 games Tuesday for testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug.
He tested positive for Nandrolone, a performance-enhancing substance, in violation of Major League Baseball's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program, according to the Pirates' website.
Marte, a 2016 Gold Glove winner, has been the team's starting centerfielder this year.
