Belva I. Casey
Belva I. Casey, 93, of Butler passed away Tuesday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born Nov. 22, 1923, in Eau Claire, she was a daughter of the late Millard F. Kinch and Grace M. Bane.
Belva was a graduate of Butler High School Class of 1941.
A homemaker, she was formerly employed in the payroll office of Butler Armco.
She married John C. Casey on Sept. 20, 1946.
Belva was a member of Saint Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, Meridian. She also belonged to Saint Fidelis Christian Mothers, serving on many committees. She especially looked forward to helping at the annual Lenten fish dinners.
She volunteered at Connoquenessing Meals on Wheels, and she was a member of the Meridian Women's Bowling League until she was 89.
She is survived by four sons, Timothy P. Casey and his wife, Joanne, of Centerville, Pa., Daniel B. Casey, of Butler, John M. Casey and his wife, Diana, of Butler, and Kevin P. Casey and his wife, Tina, of Butler; two daughters, Patricia A. Deal of Butler and Cecelia M. Myers and her husband, Kirk, of Butler; one daughter-in-law, Lisa L. Casey of Butler; one half-sister, Avis Ganoe of Foxburg; and one stepsister, Linda Gates of Foxburg.
Also surviving are 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was anxiously awaiting the arrival of two more great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Casey, who died Dec. 24, 1996; one son, Thomas A. Casey, who died April 17, 2005; one daughter-in-law, Gretchen A. Casey; one son-in-law, Charles A Deal; one great-grandson, Jesse Neff; one brother, William J. Kinch; one half-brother, Dean Kinch; her stepfather, Clair W. Bane; and her stepmother, Catherine Kinch.
The family would like to thank the staff of the YWCA Personal Care Residence, the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center 2 Skilled Unit, and 6 Main at Butler Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care and love shown to their mother during her final days.

Casey, who died Tuesday, March 7, 2017.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Meridian, with the Rev.
