EAU CLAIRE — State police are searching for a woman who they say attempted to rob a bank in the borough Friday afternoon.

The suspect entered the Farmer’s National Bank on South Washington Street at 5:55 p.m. and approached the counter, according to a state police news release.

Police say her demand for money was denied after having a brief conversation with bank employees.

The suspect is described as white, about 5 feet 6 inches tall and with dark-colored hair. She was wearing blue jeans, a dark-colored coat, a dark-colored baseball cap and sunglasses.

She fled the bank in an unknown direction. It is unknown if she was driving a vehicle or if she was armed.
