Patricia Jane Salimbene

Patricia Jane Salimbene, 87, of Williamsburg, Va., passed away Feb. 28.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Owen Hartman of Parker, Pa.

Patricia was an executive secretary for Battelle Memorial Institute. She belonged to the Presbyterian Church USA and was a proud Army wife and a devoted mother and grandmother.

Patricia was an avid bridge player, oil painter, golfer and indefatigable volunteer.

She served as a military news reporter for the Monterey Herald, a senior citizens advocate at Burcham Hills Retirement Community, a president of Sparrow Hospital Gift Volunteers and a president of Military Officers Association of America Ladies.

Patricia is survived by her husband, Frank Salimbene, retired colonel; her daughters, Jodi Lingan and her husband, Bob, and Jill Salimbene; her grandchildren, Emma Lingan, Nicco Held-Salimbene and Lucca Held-Salimbene; her cousin, Joan Robertson; and several nieces and nephews.

SALIMBENE — A service for Patricia Jane Salimbene, who died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Grand Hall of the Patriot's Colony, 6000 Patriot's Colony Drive, Williamsburg, Va.Interment will be conducted later at Arlington National Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to the Fisher House Foundation, 111 Rockville Pike, Suite 420, Rockville, MD 20850; (fisherhouse.org).Arrangements have been entrusted to the Nelsen Funeral Home & Crematory, Williamsburg, Va.Online condolences may be offered at www.nelsencares.com.
