Angela Renninger is the Butler County Symphony's 2017 Young Artist Competition winner.
Winner to perform Saturday with county symphony orchestra

The Butler County Symphony Orchestra will conclude its 68th season with “American Masters” featuring the 2017 Young Artist Competition winner Angela Renninger.

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the Butler Intermediate High School auditorium.

This concert will include Bernstein's “On The Waterfront: Symphonic Suite,” Gershwin's “American in Paris” and Ellington's “Black, Brown & Beige.”

Renninger will perform Tomasi's “Saxophone Concerto.”

The junior at Westminster College is pursuing a bachelor's in music education and performance.

The symphony also will honor the 2017 Young Musicians of Note, part of its Educational Outreach Program. The 135 students who live in Butler County and are in fourth through 12th grades were nominated by their schools' music teachers.

Tickets are $20.50 for adults and $5.50 for students.
