SRU baseball wins 10th in row
The Slippery Rock University baseball team ran its winning streak to 10 games with a doubleheader sweep Saturday of Pitt-Johnstown, 17-10 and 12-6.
Tyler Walters hit a pair of home runs in the sweep and moved into second place in SRU history.
Walters was 5-for-5 with three runs scored and six RBI in the second-game win.
He extended his hitting streak to 11 games.
Rock coach Jeff Messer also picked up career wins 950 and 951. He is just the 18th coach in Division II history to record at least 950 wins.
The Rock (14-5, 6-0) have already eclipsed its win total from a season ago.
