MONROE TWP, Clarion County — State police are investigating the cause of a fire that displaced 13 families in a South Second Avenue complex Thursday afternoon.

Clarion state police report the blaze destroyed 15 apartments and the office at Corcetti Apartments, causing an estimated $1.5 million in damage.

No injuries were reported. The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced families with lodging.

The Clarion Fire & Hose Company 1 responded to the fire around 3 p.m.

Police report flames were coming from the rear of the building when firefighters arrived.
