William Logan Ballew

William Logan Ballew, 68, of Prospect died late Monday night at Butler Memorial Hospital of natural causes.

He was born Jan. 30, 1949, in Beaver, Pa., and was the son of Robert L. and Florence Mae Shane Ballew. He was a graduate of Butler High School and had worked as a handyman and farmworker.

Bill was a former member of the Prospect Volunteer Fire Co. and fire police. He liked playing lottery scratch-off tickets, racing and watching baseball and hockey.

Survivors include five brothers, James W. Ballew of Prospect, Raymond Ballew of Prospect, Robert Ballew of Slippery Rock, Arthur Ballew of Prospect and Thomas Ballew of Prospect; four sisters, Shirley (Michael) Ackelson of Butler, Sheila Schrecengost of Butler, Patricia (Roy) Ballew of Butler and Connie (Joe) Heinl of Prospect; and many nephews and nieces. Bill was preceded by his parents.

BALLEW — There will be no public visitation for William Logan Ballew, who died Monday, Feb. 20, 2017.A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Jay Bryan Funeral Home, 443 Main St., Prospect, with the Rev. Robert Frye, pastor, officiating. Burial will be private.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Prospect Volunteer Fire Co.
