Linda A. Christie, 68, of Butler passed away Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.

She was born Dec. 17, 1948, in Butler, the daughter of the late Harry and Beatrice Green Riding.

Linda was a member of the Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church and the Bucco Trailer Club. She graduated from Butler High School in 1966. She loved to camp and collect angels and penguins. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan. Linda loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren, the joy of her life.

Surviving are husband, who she married Jan. 17, 1981, Donald R. Christie of Butler; her son, Eric (Amber) Cochran of Bluffton, S.C.; three daughters, Kim Christie, Cheryl Gilliland and Michele (Ed) Bowman, all of Butler; seven grandchildren, Matthew Gilliland, Tyler and Kaitlyn Pesci, Adyson Bowman and Rachel, Ryleigh and Ashleigh Stahl; five brothers, William (Cheryle) Riding, Harry R. (Lynn) Riding Jr., Ed (Linda) Riding, Don (Gloria) Riding and Brian (Dawn) Riding; and her sister, Pamela Spinneweber.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one infant stepson, Kevin R. Christie.

CHRISTIE — Friends of Linda A. Christie, who died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Tara Lynn, her pastor, officiating.
