Charles E. Bashline

Charles E. Bashline, 96, of Butler passed away Saturday.

He was born July 21, 1920, in Butler to the late J. Cecil Bashline and the late Eleanore M. McElroy Bashline.

Mr. Bashline served in the U.S. Air Force and Army Air Corps during World War II and was a member of the VFW. He then worked for Jimmy Bashline Signs. Mr. Bashline enjoyed gambling, especially horse races, playing pool and playing the lottery.

He is survived by his nieces, Aryl Bashline and Kitty Walker of Butler, two half-nephews; and one half-niece.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, James Bashline; his sister, Catherine Hilliard; his half-sister, Gertrude Hilovsky; and his companion, Collette Requate.

BASHLINE — A memorial service for Charles E. Bashline, who died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Grace @ Calvary Church, 123 E. Diamond St., Butler, with the Rev. Tara Lynn, pastor, officiating.Memorial donations may be given to the American Heart Association, Four Gateway Center, 444 Liberty Ave., Suite 1300, Pittsburgh, PA 15222, or to the American Cancer Society, Greater Pittsburgh, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.Arrangements were handled by the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 W.
