A construction worker readies a set of stairs at the new VA Butler Healthcare center on Duffy Road in Center Township. The building is about five months ahead of schedule according to VA officials, who expect to hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony during the week of Aug. 28, 2017. The center will be open to patients on Sept. 5, 2017, according to Director David Cord. The two-story, 178,000-square-foot building will offer services including primary care, mental health, radiology and physical therapy on its first floor. Firefighters prevented a basement blaze from spreading to the rest of an East Brady Street house early Tuesday, March 14, 2017. A couple and two young children were in an upstairs apartment of the house at 332 E. Brady St. when smoke filled the building around 6:22 a.m. Capt.
