Grace L. Hartman Turner

Grace L. Hartman Turner, 77, of Evans City passed away Friday afternoon at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Feb. 10, 1940, in Greentree, she was the daughter of the late Clayton V. and Catherine S. Siegfried Hartman.

Grace was a member of the Northway Community Church in Wexford.

She had earned her bachelor’s and her master’s degrees in education. Grace taught 31 years in several schools in the area, retiring from Mars School District as a reading specialist teacher.

Grace loved traveling with her husband and, on occasions, her granddaughter, who she dearly loved and was very close to.

She was the voice you heard when calling Turner Tractor, and she always made sure her boys had lunch.

Grace was a very strong person and was enthusiastic about people.

She was preceded in death by one grandson in 1989.

Grace is survived by her husband, Berdette Turner, who she married Dec. 24, 1954; two sons, Ray (Dawn) Turner of Evans City and Richard “Rick” D. Turner of New Brighton; one sister, Lynn (Robert) McKee of Mars; and one granddaughter, Bethany of Arkansas.

TURNER — Friends of Grace L. Hartman Turner, who died Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home, 328 W. Main St., Evans City.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Evans City Cemetery.
