Norma Jean Hixson Betty

Norma Jean Hixson Betty, 86, of Prospect died Saturday evening at her home.

Norma was born July 12, 1930, in Clarion, and was the daughter of Wyatt and Mabel Bowser Bartley.

Norma was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Prospect. She was an accomplished organist.

She enjoyed gardening, canning, baking and crocheting. Norma loved spending time with her friends and her cat, Joey.

Norma's door was always open, and she always had an open seat at her table.

She leaves behind cherished memories of time spent with her children, extended family and friends.

Survivors include one son, Robert “Hig” Hixson of Prospect; one daughter, Jane Hixson of Evans City; and one granddaughter, Tina Hixson.

She was preceded by two husbands, Kenneth Hixson and Paul Betty; one son, Jerry Hixson; and one brother, Joe Bartley.

BETTY — There will be no public visitation for Norma Jean Hixson Betty, who died Saturday, March 4, 2017. A memorial service is being planned and will be announced later.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Butler County Humane Society.Arrangements are by the Jay Bryan Funeral Home in Prospect.
