Lewis Carl Ray
Lewis Carl Ray, 85, of Butler passed away peacefully Tuesday at Good Samaritan Hospice.
He was born July 28, 1931, in Lick Hill, the son of the late Harrison Robert Ray and Elizabeth Roberts Ray.
Lewis was a member of GraceWay Community Church. He was a member of the 82nd Airborne in the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War. He retired from the VA Hospital after 30 years, where he worked as the kitchen supervisor. He belonged to Masonic Lodge 694 and several country music associations. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving are three daughters, Pamela (Michael) Isenberg of Saxonburg, Jeanette “Jan” (Charles) Weleski of Cabot, and Patricia (Randy) Lawrence of Savannah, Ga.; his son, Jason C. (Leanne) Ray of Eldersburg, Md.; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; his special friend, Rose Dunkle; two sisters, Sandra Hetrick of North Carolina and Lucille Ray of Butler; and his brother, Alvin (Joann) Ray of Butler.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Lou Ray, who died July 16, 1996; two brothers; and three sisters.
RAY — Friends of Lewis Carl Ray, who died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.Services will be at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Saturday with the Rev.
