Lena Kale

Lena Kale

Lena Kale of Phoenix passed into eternal life Thursday.

She was born Jan. 2, 1925, in Butler, where she made her home until moving to Arizona in 1988. She was a graduate of Butler Area Senior High School and belonged to St. Steven's Catholic Church in Sun Lakes, Ariz.

Lena was a homemaker but participated in many charitable associations. She was a member of the VFW auxiliary association and was very active in the back-to-school clothing drive for Pioneer Telephone. She also donated her time and efforts to Hug-A-Bear, Vision Expo and the Grand Canyon State Games for children. Additionally, she was a member of St. Steven's Christian Mothers Association and served on the board of directors for the Madelyn Rolland Charitable Trust Fund of Arizona.

She was blessed to have two wonderful men in her life. Ralph, her husband of nearly 50 years, preceded her in death in 1995. They raised three children and enjoyed their lives together.

Arthur Gaudino, her dear brother, who made his home with Lena and Ralph for 25 years, also preceded her in death in 1985. Not a day went by where she did not miss them.

Lena was the life of the party and thoroughly enjoyed being with family and friends. She was very active in many social functions until her health deteriorated the last few years. During this time, she was so fortunate to have the loving care of her dear daughter, Linda, who unselfishly took care of her every need.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda of Arizona; her son, Ralph, and his wife, Kathy, of California; her son, Kevin, and his wife, Brenda, of Butler, and their son, her grandson, Spencer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
