Francis E. “Red” “Frannie” Sasse

Francis E. “Red” “Frannie” Sasse, 77, of Butler passed away Monday at the Sugar Creek Rest.

He was born Jan. 2, 1940, in Butler to the late Otto Henry Sasse and the late Nancy Sublett Sasse.

Mr. Sasse worked at Sasse's American Gas Station, Halstead Industries, Widenhofer's Station and Lake Arthur Country Club. He was a member of the Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mr. Sasse enjoyed watching racing, feeding outside birds, working outside in the yard and garden, and working on cars.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce, who he married in 1963; two sons, Robert Sasse and James Sasse and his wife, Jennifer; one daughter, Linda Krajnikovich, and her husband, John; five grandchildren, Jordan of Dyess AFB, Abilene, Texas, Alexi and Allyson Krajnikovich and Braelyn and Camryn Sasse; four brothers, Norman Sasse, Jay Sasse and his wife, Sue, John Sasse and Charles Sasse and his wife, Jean; three sisters, Waneda Weitzel, Jean Hunter and Nancy Polkey and her husband, Wayne; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Sasse and Oscar R. Sasse.

SASSE — Friends of Francis E. “Red” “Frannie” Sasse, who died Monday, Feb. 6, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. immediately following at the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Fish, pastor, officiating.
