Catherine Mary Stegner

Catherine Mary Stegner, 94, of Lyndora, passed away Saturday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Feb. 24, 1922, in Wilson, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Carlo and Angela Cervi.

Mrs. Stegner was a homemaker, and she retired from Mine Safety Appliances.

She enjoyed praying the rosary with Mother Angelica and cheering on the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Mrs. Stegner graduated from Holy Rosary High School in 1942.

She was a member of Saint Peter Roman Catholic Church, Butler.

She is survived by two grandchildren, Bill Stegner and his wife, Liz, of Butler and Kurt Stegner and his wife, Candice, of Harwick; and four great-grandchildren, Sophia, Samantha, Allie and Avery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Stegner, who died Feb. 5, 2001; one son, William F. Stegner, who died June 2, 1994; and one daughter, who died at birth.

STEGNER — Friends of Catherine Mary Stegner, who died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave., Butler.Burial will take place at the Mount Carmel Cemetery, Verona.The bereavement group of Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church will meet at 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home to conduct a scriptural wake service.For more information, please visit www.martinfh.net.
