Terry L. Hortert Sr.

Terry L. Hortert Sr., 72, of West Sunbury passed away Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born Oct. 22, 1944, in Butler, the son of the late Frank J. and Grace Critchlow Hortert.

Terry had worked at PennDOT as a laborer and heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Springdale Lutheran Church.

Terry was a loving husband and father and the kind of grandfather every child should have. He was loyal to his friends and a trusted confidant to all.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, who he married July 24, 1965, Illa Brewster Hortert of West Sunbury; his daughter, Christine (Tyler) Lambert of West Sunbury; two sons, Terry L. Hortert Jr. of Butler and Daniel W. Hortert of West Sunbury; and six grandchildren, Frank, Vicky, Terry III, Eli, Katie and Noah.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Thomas Hortert.

HORTERT — Friends of Terry L. Hortert Sr., who died Monday, Jan. 30, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W.
