Betty Jean Eppinger
Betty Jean Eppinger, 75, of Jackson Township passed away Tuesday at the VNA Hospice in Butler.
Born Aug. 6, 1941, in New Sewickley Township, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Helen Bernard Shaffer.
Betty was a faithful member of the Grace Church of Harmony for more than 60 years. She was active in the Stephen Ministry Program, Bible studies and the kitchen committee, which prepared the Lenten luncheons. In her earlier years, she enjoyed swimming and roller-skating. She loved gardening, especially flowers. Betty also enjoyed traveling, camping and going to the beach. Above all, she was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
Betty is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Donald J. Eppinger, who she married Nov. 17, 1962; her son, Brian J. (Brenda) Eppinger of Crofton, Md.; her daughter, Deanna L. Eppinger of Zelienople; her grandsons, Aaron M. Eppinger, Daniel M. Eppinger and David J. Eppinger; her sister, Jean Shaffer Vogel of Zelienople; her brother, Bob Shaffer of Zelienople; and many nieces and nephews.
EPPINGER — Friends of Betty Jean Eppinger, who died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.A celebration of Betty's life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Peter J.
