William “Bruce” Bergman

William “Bruce” Bergman, 71, of Harmony, passed away suddenly on Thursday in the comfort of his home.

Born Oct. 12, 1945 in Jamestown, N.Y., he was the son of the late Milton and Mildred Price Bergman

Bruce served with the Army National Guard during the Vietnam Era.

He was employed as an insurance marketing representative for more than 30 years prior to retirement.

Bruce attended Calvin Presbyterian Church in Zelienople. He was a long time member of the Tuesday Night Hackers Golf League, a former member of the Zelienople American Legion and former member of the Harmony Moose Lodge.

As a member of the Harmony Moose Bowling League, he earned the nickname “Thundar.”

Bruce loved to travel, to cheer on all of the Pittsburgh sports teams, attend local college football and basketball games and to play golf with friends as often as he possibly could.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Sayre Bergman, whom he married on July 21, 2000; two step-daughters, Heather (Ian) Rushforth of Greensboro, N.C. and Elizabeth (Zachary) Erbrecht of Allison Park; four step-grandchildren, Annabeth and Hudson Rushforth and Evelyn and Gabriel Erbrecht; a brother, Jarold Bergman of Ashville, N.Y.; numerous nieces and nephews; and by his beloved cat “Moose.”

In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his first wife, Gale Lundstrom Bergman; two sisters, Allene Montgomery and Carol Carpenter; and two brothers, Victor Bergman and Dale Bergman.

BERGMAN — A memorial service for William “Bruce” Bergman, who died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3, 2017, at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 415 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, with the Rev. Dr. N. Graham Standish, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bruce’s name may be made to The Rachel A. Mogielski Scholarship Fund, 904 Western Ave., Beaver, PA 15009.

Arrangements were entrusted to Boylan Funeral Home of Zelienople.
