Mildred “Mitzie” Yonko Nagy

Mildred “Mitzie” Yonko Nagy, 78, of Butler, passed away Jan. 22 at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

She was born July 25, 1938, in Wilmerding, to the late Michael Yonko and the late Anna Mazak Yonko.

Mrs. Nagy was a member of St. Peter’s Anglican Church. She enjoyed working in her yard, tending to landscaping and her garden.

She is survived by her son, Don Nagy; her daughter, Melissa Short, and her husband, Tony; five grandchildren, Jake and Sam Nagy and Melanie, Nolan and Rachael Short; and her sister, Roselyn Kretschmaier.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald G. Nagy, whom she married June 25, 1960, and who died in October 2005.

NAGY — Per the wishes of the family of Mildred “Mitzie” Yonko Nagy, who died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017, there will be no public visitation and services were private.

Interment took place at Butler County Memorial Park.

Funeral services were handled by the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.

Memorial donations are suggested to either the VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Dr., Butler, PA 16001 or to St. Peter’s Anglican Church, 218 E. Jefferson St., Butler, PA 16001.
