Audrey G. Wetzel
Audrey G. Wetzel, 89, a longtime resident of Buffalo Township and current resident of Richmond, Ind., passed away peacefully in her sleep Thursday at the Arbor Trace Senior Living Facility in Richmond, Ind.
Audrey was the beloved wife of Merle B. “Pappy” Wetzel, who died in 2001.
Audrey was born Nov. 27, 1927, in Winfield Township. She was the daughter of the late Elva Bauer and John Michael McFadden.
Audrey was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She cared for her family and was a great baker and cook. She loved her dogs and spending time with her family. She was a longtime and active member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Audrey is survived by her daughter, Susan Wetzel, of Richmond, Ind.; her two sons, M. Lynn Wetzel, of Richmond, Ind., and Charles “Chuck” and Cheryl Wetzel, of Buffalo Township.
She is also survived by six grandchildren, Jera (Terry) Schwer, Nicholas (Melissa) Wetzel, Chad Wetzel, Jason Wetzel, Ashly (Brad) Hawkins and Calvin Wetzel; and 10 great-grandchildren, who were the lights of her life, Riley, John Michael, Alice, Izabelle, Mason, Sadie, Xzavier, Claudia, Owen and Nathan.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Eric Rodger Wetzel; her daughter-in-law, Kelley McCullough Wetzel; two brothers, John and Charles McFadden; and her sister, Geraldine McFadden.
WETZEL — Family and friends of Audrey G. Wetzel, who died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, 524 High St., Freeport.
A private funeral service will be conducted, and she will be buried with her husband in Butler County Memorial Park in Butler.
