John Edward Russell

John Edward Russell, 88, of Butler passed away Monday at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.

He was born July 31, 1928, in Natrona Heights, the son of the late John E. Russell Sr. and Catherine Fink Russell.

John was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a Butler businessman who enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, cars and traveling.

Surviving are his daughter, Kathleen, and her husband, Wildred Balentine, of Butler; three sons, John Edward Russell III and his wife, Peggy, of Clearwater, Fla., Donald Russell and his wife, Marilyn, of Erie, and Joseph Russell and his wife, Mary Lou, of Butler; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

RUSSELL — Friends of John Edward Russell, who died Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler. Interment will be at the Butler County Memorial Park.
