Lois Montgomery
Lois May Montgomery, 90, of Slippery Rock, passed away at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday at her home.
She was born June 18, 1926, in Grove City, to Andrew Bruce Crawford and Iva Thompson Crawford. She married Paul Merritt Montgomery on May 29, 1947, and he preceded her in death Oct. 11, 2001.
Lois worked as a beautician until she had children. After raising her children, she worked as a clerk for Value Drug in Slippery Rock.
She was a member of the East Main Presbyterian Church in Grove City and the Order of Eastern Star (OES) Chapter 110 of Stoneboro.
She is survived by two daughters, Brenda J. Snyder and her husband, Frank, of New Castle, and Betsy A. Patterson and her husband, Bill, of Slippery Rock; her son, Dennis P. Montgomery and his wife, Sherlyn, of Yampa, Col.; two grandchildren, Dustin Montgomery and Lisa Chase; and one great-grandchild.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one daughter, Bonnie, who died in 2008.
MONTGOMERY — Family of Lois May Montgomery, who died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017, will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, with the Rev. Tom Funka, visitation pastor of East Main Presbyterian Church, presiding. Interment will be in Crestview Memorial Park, Pine Township, Mercer County.
