By a vote of 7 to 2, the Butler School Board accepted the resignation and early retirement of superintendent Dale Lumley.

Under the retirement, he and his spouse will continue to have health insurance benefits until he turns 65.

Bill Halle, right, voted against the motion saying "I think we need to take a stand for what is right."

Lumley and other officials are under investigation for their potential role in the district's lack of response to lead being found in the water at Summit Township Elementary.
