John E. Fetzer

John E. Fetzer, 70, of Mars died unexpectedly Tuesday evening at UPMC Passavant Hospital in Cranberry Township.

Born July 26, 1946, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late John and Virginia “Jean” Penney Fetzer.

John was the owner of Fetzer Environmental, a pollution-control company.

He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was an active member, past commander and board member of the Mars VFW Post 7505. He also had served as the district adjutant for the VFW.

He was a member of the Mars United Presbyterian Church and the John E. Mair Lodge 729 F&AM in Mars.

Surviving are his companion, Patricia Hawkins of Mars; his stepdaughter, Diane (Craig) Edward of Valencia; three stepsons, Robert (Nancy) Kennedy of Mars, Dale (Renee) Kennedy of Valencia and Todd (Julie) Radzyminski of Wampum; 10 stepgrandchildren; 17 stepgreat-grandchildren; and one sister, Virginia Coffey of Beaver Falls.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maryann Arnold Fetzer, who he married Sept. 24, 1977, and who died Nov. 3, 2014.

FETZER — Friends of John E. Fetzer, who died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be at the Mars Cemetery, Adams Township.Memorials may be made to the Mars VFW, P.O.
