LIBERTY TWP, Mercer County — Two Grove City residents were killed Thursday morning in a head-on vehicle accident.

Samuel W. Moore, Sr., 83, and Mary L. Moore, 82, were both pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which happened at 11:49 a.m. on North Liberty Road near the intersection with Airport Road, according to police.

Samuel Moore was driving north on the road and lost control of his vehicle when he hit a patch of ice.

Their vehicle swerved into the southbound lane and collided with another vehicle, driven by Dan Martin, 46, of Grove City.

State police are investigating the crash.
