Carol Lee Lutz Kos

Carol Lee Lutz Kos, 78, of Zelienople passed away Saturday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

Born Oct. 5, 1938, in Zelienople, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and the late Ora Smith Lutz. Carol was a member of St. Peters Reformed Church in Zelienople. She was a former member of the Ladies of the Lake at Treasure Lake and the Red Hat Society in Dubois.

She appreciated antiques and enjoyed searching for them at yard sales. She was an accomplished traveler and savored tasting exotic foods. Above all, she cherished keeping in touch with family and friends by phone or through the mail.

She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered.

Carol leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, Rob Weller of Leesburg, Ga., Jeff Weller of Panama City, Fla., and John Kos, and his fiancée, Patti Serrento, of Dubois; two grandchildren, Amanda and Steven; her sister, Shirley McWithy of Zelienople; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She also leaves behind her good friend and caregiver, Gidget Moffett of Zelienople.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband, James Kos, who died Dec. 22, 2014, and her first husband, Robert J. Weller, who died Jan. 31, 2013.

KOS — The family of Carol Lee Lutz Kos, who died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, will welcome friends from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. Tuesday when memorial services will immediately follow at St. Peters Reformed Church, 320 Grandview Ave., Zelienople, with the Rev. James R. Bertoti, her pastor, officiating.Carol's family suggests in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be made to St. Peter's Reformed Church in her memory.Arrangements have been entrusted to the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
