PITTSBURGH — A Pittsburgh man authorities say robbed a First Niagara Bank in Cranberry Township last year has been indicted by a federal grand jury.

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Pittsburgh said Gregory Magee, 47, formerly of Pittsburgh, was indicted Wednesday on two counts of armed bank robbery and four counts of bank robbery. All the charges are felonies.

According to a federal indictment released Wednesday, Magee robbed six banks from Jan. 20 through Nov. 8 of last year — including First Niagara, where he allegedly used a 9 mm semiautomatic handgun and stole $5,526 on Jan. 20.

Magee stole a total of $119,696 during the robbery spree, prosecutors said, which included banks in New Castle, McMurray, Pittsburgh, Beaver Falls and Monroeville.

According to the indictment Magee is in Allegheny County Jail. He faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison and a fine of $250,000 for the charges of armed bank robbery, and a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a fine of $250,000 for the charges of bank robbery, according to prosecutors.
