Ben & Jerry’s will expandST. ALBANS, Vt. — Ben & Jerry’s says it is moving forward with plans to expand its manufacturing facility in St. Albans.The ice cream company announced Tuesday that the roughly $14 million, 40,000-square-foot expansion project includes a wastewater treatment plant and a warehouse.The new space is expected to allow the company to boost production by 15 to 20 percent. The St. Albans location makes about two-thirds of the ice cream the company distributes.
Humana reports loss in 4th quarterLOUISVILLE, Ky. — Humana on Wednesday reported a fourth-quarter loss of $401 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.On a per-share basis, the Louisville, Ky.-based company said it had a loss of $2.68. Earnings, adjusted for nonrecurring costs, came to $2.09 per share.The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment was for earnings of $2.06 per share.
