Julia A. Lazar

Julia A. Lazar, 91, passed away Dec. 11 in Gilbert, Ariz., surrounded by beloved family members.

Julia was born Jan. 1, 1925, in Braddock, Pa., to William Patrick Murray and Mary Margaret O'Toole, both from Ireland.

Julia was the loving wife to Joseph Lazar for more than 64 years. Joseph died Oct. 4, 2008.

She was one of eight children and is survived by her sister, Anna Holmes, of Monroeville, Pa.

Julia was the loving mother of 10 children, Sherry Schaffer, Garry (Cathy) Lazar, Judy (Bud) Pergl, Bruce (Mary) Lazar, Maureen (Martin) McPherson, Jeffrey Lazar, Randy (Joyce) Lazar, Cindy (Matt) Petersen, Scott Lazar and Kimberly Martin.

There are many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Julia was a very loving wife to her husband and her whole life was about family. She showed her family unconditional love throughout her life. She was their strongest supporter, along with their father.

Her family was blessed to have their mom as their mother. She worked very hard at home to make sure her family had what they needed and cooked great meals. She was a woman of strong faith in God.

Anyone who met Julia knew right away how “special” she was. She was so kind to everyone and had a radiant smile for all.

Julia had such a beautiful, special gift that everyone saw immediately. She put everyone at ease with her grace and soothing words and love.

Julia is now embraced with God's warmth and with her husband and other family and friends who have passed before her for eternal life.

“We will miss you so much, Mum. You will always be in our Heart and Soul.”

LAZAR — A funeral Mass for Julia A. Lazar, who died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016, was at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church and was buried Dec. 15 at the Green Acres Cemetery in Scottsdale, Ariz.The Green Acres Mortuary & Cemetery, Scottsdale, Ariz., assisted with the arrangements.To write an online condolence, please visit www.greenacresmortuary.net.
