W. Paul Anderson

W. Paul Anderson, 88, of Huntingdon, Pa., died Thursday at the Westminster Woods at Huntingdon.

He was born in 1928, on the family farm near Butler, and served in the U.S. Navy as a medical corpsman from 1946 to 1948.

After college at Penn State and a few years farming with his father, Paul became an extension dairy specialist for Penn State.

He lived in State College for many years and was a member of the State College Presbyterian Church. He was also a 4H leader for the Tussey Mountain Junior Rifle Club and a long time member of the Loyalsock Rod and Gun Club in Sullivan County.

In recent years, he had been a resident of the Westminster Woods in Huntingdon and a member at Stone Church of the Brethren.

Paul was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Barbara Metzger Anderson. Also preceding him were his brothers, Robert Eugene Anderson and George Elton Anderson; and his sister, Mary Jane Anderson Barnhart.

Paul is survived by his daughter, Dr. Ruth Anderson, of South Carolina; his son, Keith Anderson, of Maryland; and his son, Philip Anderson, of Emlenton. Also surviving are five grandchildren.

ANDERSON — A memorial service for W. Paul Anderson, who died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016, will be conducted later at the family's convenience.
