Joseph A. Vitali

Joseph A. Vitali, 97, of Butler, passed away Wednesday at his home

Born Dec. 24, 1919, in Donora, Pa., he was the son of Louis and Ida Fanoni Vitali.

Joe served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater. He had worked at the Donora Zinc Works and US Steel's sintering plant in Saxonburg. He was a member of the American Legion and the Sinnemahoning Sportsman's Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time at his camp in Emporium.

Surviving are his daughter, Darla Clark of Saxonburg; his granddaughter, Kelly (Rick) Clark Oleyar; three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Mason and Aiden.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alice Fuller Vitali, who died June 30, 2010; one son, Ronald Vitali; two brothers, Albert Vitali and Prosper Vitali; and one sister, Esther Yuhasz.

VITALI — Friends of Joseph A. Vitali, who died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Fox Funeral Home, Saxonburg.Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jason Schweinberg officiating.
