Myrtle I. Sarvey
Myrtle I. Sarvey, 95, of Prospect died Sunday morning at her home.
Born Dec. 8, 1921, in Butler she was the daughter of Jessie Floyd and Anna Beilstein Wolfe.
Myrtle worked as the bookkeeper and secretary for MD Sarvey Plumbing and Heating in Prospect for many years. She was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Prospect and Eastern Star in Butler.
She served as Worthy High Priestess for the Good Samaritan Shrine. She also served on the YWCA Board.
Myrtle also was a member of the Prospect Community Women’s Club and the former 20th Century Club of Prospect. She also was active in the Mr. and Mrs. Club.
Myrtle enjoyed camping, dancing, boating, playing cards, canning and loved spending time with all her family and loved feeding people.
Myrtle was a 1940 graduate of Butler High School.
Survivors include her husband, Marlin D. Sarvey, who she married Sept. 24, 1940, also one son, Marlin “Sonny” (Judy) Sarvey of Prospect; four daughters, Shirley Bilowich of Butler, Peg Goehring of Evans City, Ruth Fisher of West Liberty and Tammy (Don) Stewart of West Sunbury; also three sisters, Helen Taggart of West Liberty, Florence Yost of Butler and Ruth McCoy of Salem, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
SARVEY — Visitation for Myrtle Irene Sarvey, who died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017, will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Jay Bryan Funeral Home, 443 Main St., Prospect.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Prospect with the Rev. Gary Brown officiating.
Burial will be in the Butler Memorial Park and Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Prospect.
