Driver in Route 8 crash flown to Pgh. hospital

BRADY TWP — A two-vehicle crash near the intersection of Route 8 and Hall Road this afternoon left one driver with severe, but non-life-threatening injuries.

A Slippery Rock man driving a gray Pontiac Grand Am south on Route 8 was attempting a left turn onto Hall Road about 1:30 p.m., when his car collided with an oncoming white Dodge Ram that was driven by a Butler man.

The drivers' names were not immediately available.

The driver of the Grand Am suffered severe but non-life-threatening injuries, police said. He was alert as he was transported by helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital.

The Butler man suffered minor injuries, according to state police.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Traffic was limited to one lane for about an hour following the accident.

In addition to state police, Butler Ambulance Service, Unionville Fire Department and West Sunbury Fire Department were on scene.
