Students read poetry at Lincoln arts event
MIDLAND, Beaver County — Literary and visual arts students at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School will present creative works today and Friday at the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center.
The students will team with Ensemble Immersion, a student group that writes and performs two original shows a year, to provide readings of poetry, fiction and creative non-fiction, as well as exhibits of painting, photography and sculpture.
Two Butler County students will be part of the events.
Emily Koscinski of Zelienople will appear for the second time when she reads her poem, “Mind Strings,” this evening.
Ian McKinzie of Cranberry Township will be reading some of his poetry this evening as well.
Events begin today with an art show at 5 p.m. and readings at 6 p.m., plus theater performances at 7 p.m. today and Friday.
Admission to exhibits and readings is free, and tickets for the Ensemble Immersion performances are $5. Tickets are available at the Lincoln Park box office or online at www.LincolnParkArts.org.
<b>Mancini Awards</b>Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center, Pittsburgh CLO and the Henry Mancini Musical Theatre Awards have announced that the annual Mancini awards program, which recognizes student achievement in high school musical theater in Butler, Beaver and Lawrence counties, will now participate in the National High School Musical Theatre Awards Program of The Broadway League.
