Sarah Jane Ferguson Parker

Sarah Jane Ferguson Parker, 81, of Mount Pleasant, S.C., formerly of Butler, passed away Tuesday.

Sarah was born July 25, 1935, in Butler, the daughter of the late Bryson McKee Ferguson and the late Sarah Jane Patten Ferguson.

She graduated from Grove City College with a general business degree. She was employed by Armco Steel. She was a member of the Sigma Delta Pi sorority, the GFWC Junior League of Butler and the Butler Bridge club.

After moving in 1973, to Mt. Pleasant, she worked for Time Out Sports, First Federal of South Carolina and retired from Roper Hospital where she worked as a medical secretary.

Mrs. Parker is survived by her two daughters, Tracey Lynn Parker, of Mount Pleasant, S.C., and Judith Parker Nelson and her husband, Ernie, of Sullivan's Island, S.C.; her son, David Eric Parker, of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; and two grandchildren, Bryson Nelson and Katie Nelson, both of Sullivan's Island, S.C.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Merritt Parker.

PARKER — Friends of Sarah Jane Ferguson Parker, who died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016, will be received from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel at Butler County Memorial Park, 380 Evans City Road, Butler.Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Butler County Memorial Park with the Rev. James Steiner of Hill United Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will take place at the Butler County Memorial Park.Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 604 Pitt St., Mount Pleasant, SC 29464.The Thompson-Miller Funeral Home in Butler assisted with the arrangements.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
