Leonard E. Nichter

Leonard E. Nichter, 90, of Butler passed away Thursday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

Born April 21, 1926, in Butler, he was a son of the late Edward J. and Antionette Glaser Nichter.

He worked in the Stainless Steel Production Department at Butler Armco for more than 30 years.

He was a member of St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church in Butler. Leonard enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing.

Surviving is his wife, Emma Snow Nichter, whom he married Sept. 7, 1950; three children, Jennifer (Richard) Davis of Butler, Bradley (Susan) Nichter of Butler and Darrin (Christine) Nichter of Rimersburg; two stepgrandsons; and several stepgreat-grandchildren; his sister, Patrcia Jelkovac of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Valerie Harkins; and his sister, Mary V. Curry.

NICHTER — There will be no public visitation for Leonard E. Nichter, who died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 1660 N. Main St. Ext., Butler. The Rev. Nicholas Argentieri, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in Butler.
